The Titanic
Of a total of 2,223 people, only 706 survived; 1,517 perished.
Almost two hours after Titanic sank, the RMS Carpathia arrived on scene and picked up its first lifeboat.
The Titanic was designed to hold 32 lifeboats, though only 20 were on board; White Star management was concerned that too many boats would sully the aesthetic beauty of the ship.
A first class (parlor suite) ticket on Titanic cost $4,350, which translates into $90,000 in 2006 USD.
Lillian Gertrud Asplund, the last American survivor of the Titanic tragedy, died in Massachusetts on May 6, 2006, at age 99.
Eleanor Shuman, who was the inspiration for Kate Winslet's Rose, died on March 7, 1998, at age 87.
Although there were 4 funnels (smoke stacks), only 3 were operational. The 4th funnel was for looks.
Very few people actually went down with the ship. Most died and drifted away in their life-jackets.
300 dead bodies were pulled from the sea the next morning.
The Titanic was rediscovered on July 14th, 1986, 74 years after it sank.

Lake Delta

I came home from camping a 8:00 in the morning on June 14. We stayed for two days at Lake Delta. It was my first real camping trip. We made s'mores, sang campfire songs and swam in the lake. The only bad things were mosquitoes, raccoons and skunks. Mom and I heard a rattling sound so I looked out the tent window and saw a skunk eating Piper's dog food. I was expecting to see a raccoon. We did, but that was the next night. It came by looking for food. Luckily, we put the food in the truck. Also, Henry and I found a dead, one-eyed fish. We named him Speedy the One-Eyed Fish. I saw two chipmunks but I didn't bother naming them because I didn't think I was going to see them again. It doesn't make sense to name an animal that you will never see again. Bored

Herkimer Diamond Mines

My mom and I went to the Herkimer Diamond Mines. I won a prize for asking good questions and showing people my finds. I will post pics and soon as possible. :D
